Students in grades 1 through 6 learn the fundamentals of place value and the four operations, including decimals, with this hands-on resource. The concise activities and games in this book align with current math standards, which require that children use concrete models or drawings and strategies to learn place value before using place value understanding to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Students learn to read, write, and understand 2-, 3-, and 4- digit whole numbers, and decimals to the tenths and hundredths places; skip count by 10s and 100s; and practice regrouping with the blocks. Twenty-five activities and games with the blocks and 55 paper-and-pencil worksheets to extend learning are included, along with teacher notes and an answer key.
