Synopsis

An examination of the whole field of electronic warfare modelling and simulation at a systems level, including chapters that describe basic electronic warfare (EW) concepts. Written by an expert with more than 24 years of experience, it explores EW applications and techniques and the radio frequency spectrum. A detailed resource for entry-level engineering personnel in EW, military personnel with no radio or communications engineering background, technicians and other software professionals, the work explains the basic concepts required for modelling and simulation that today's professionals need to understand. There are discussions of important mathematical concepts, such as decibel notation and spherical trigonometry, necessary for modelling and simulation. Moreover, the author describes specific types of EW equipment, how they work and how each is mathematically modelled.

About the Author

David L. Adamy is president of Adamy Engineering and previously worked as a systems engineer and program manager on EW and reconnaissance programs delivering systems from 'DC to light' on platforms from submarines to space. He managed a simulation systems engineering group and participated in a wide range of EW modeling and simulation efforts for more than 20 years. He is the author of the popular EW 101 and EW 102 books, past president of the Association of Old Crows, and a frequent instructor of EW short courses. Mr. Adamy received his MSEE in communication theory from the University of Santa Clara and his BSEE from Arizona State University.
