Synopsis
This book allows to make beautiful home accessories from metal without firing up a blowtorch or warming up a soldering iron. If you can use a saw and a hammer, you are already off to a great start. Every step of the process is beautifully covered and illustrated, from piercing and cutting, to riveting and bending along with essential surface treatments such as filing, chasing, polishing, and adding patinas. The unique craft projects include: the copper Gingko Leaf chopstick rest; the modernist Mail Call sorter; attractive metal shower curtain hangers, enhanced with colourful rivets; a tabletop mirror combines the sheen of metal with an acrylic sheet; sparkling drawer pulls using aluminium discs, nuts and bolts; and a brass Art Noveau-style lampshade riveted onto an aluminium cylinder.

About the Author
Joanna Gollberg received her degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology. She is a member of the Society of North American Goldsmiths, The American Craft Council, and the respected Southern Highland Crafts Guild. Joanna has won numerous awards, including a new talent competition from the American Jewelry Design Council. She was a contributing author and designer for Making Beautiful Beads (Lark Books, 2002) and is the author of Making Metal Jewelry (Lark, 2003).
