In Divination Conjure Style Starr Casas shares the secrets of conjure-style divination that she learned at home and that, until very recently, were family secrets that were only transmitted orally. Traditional conjure is the domain of the poor and disenfranchised, living in regions that were (and remain) unfriendly to esotericism and the occult. Thus, conjure divination relies on inexpensive tools that are not exclusively magical: playing cards, rather than tarot cards, or scrying with blue water instead of a crystal ball.

About the Authors
Starr Casas was born in the mountains of Kentucky and raised in the culture of the Deep South. The author of numerous books, she continues to hold tight to the folkways of her ancestors. At the age of seventeen, Starr learned how to do cleansings with eggs, herbs, and candles. She has been a Conjure woman for over forty years and is the fourth generation of her family to practice traditional Southern Conjure. A beloved teacher, she presents workshops across the United States. She lives just outside Houston, Texas.
Judika Illes is the bestselling author of numerous books devoted to spells, spirits, and witchcraft, including the Encyclopedia of 5000 Spells and Encyclopedia of Spirits, as well as Pure Magic, Daily Magic, Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Encyclopedia of Mystics, Saints, and Sages, and Witches: A Compendium.
