Synopsis

Proceedings of the April 1996 symposium. Fifteen contributions present a mix of applied science providing an understanding of physical and chemical phenomena that can lead to improved catalyst performance and technology applications, among them, methane reforming, automotive and diesel exhaust catalysts, catalytic combustion for gas turbines, and membranes. A sampling of topics: advances in autoexhaust catalysts, catalytic combustion over hexaaluminates, synthesis and characterization of thermally stable high surface area anatase titania particulates, membrane catalysts, and oxygen permeation in Sr-Fe-Co-O dense ceramic membranes. Synopsis

Ceramic Transactions. This new volume presents an interdisciplinary discussion of the most recent progress in design, innovative developments, and application of novel catalyst materials for high temperature processes. Emphasis is given to developments in direct atomic scale probing of dynamic catalysts under reaction conditions, supported metal particle catalysts, oxide catalysts including n-butane oxidation catalysts, state of the art membrane catalysis, development of ceramic based catalyst carriers for application in hydrocarbon oxidation, catalyst combustors, and environmental control in catalysis. This book will serve as an important reference for anyone involved in the study of catalyst materials temperature processes, and for those interested in gaining an overview of how the synergism between surface science and catalysis is advancing the important area of materials.
