- the complex health and regulatory issues;
- the barriers, backup options, and flexibility needed to maintain system reliability;
- and the need to address public perception through outreach and clear communication.
The driving forces behind the updated second edition include the continuing evolution of regulations across the U.S., the continuing advancement of technologies that provide proper barriers, and utilities' ongoing, full-scale indirect potable reuse experiences.
