About the Author

Evelyn Lee, EdD, was Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco, and Executive Director of Richmond Area Multi-Services, Inc., until her death in 2003. She was also founder and Director of the Cultural Competency Consultation Center. Previously, she was the Chief Program Director of the Department of Psychiatry, San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Lee's managerial, clinical, and teaching career spanned more than 30 years, and she published numerous articles and book chapters on mental health and cross-cultural issues.
