From the Author

Your comments have been heard.
We appreciate your comments regarding our work. Since this book has been published, Waite Group has finally rethought their strategy on publishing books. Originally they wanted to be the first to market with books on emerging products. They have found that this is not the most effective marketing ploy. They are now attempting to let a product mature a bit before publishing a book on a product.

As for the use of InstallShield, that was not an option to us *at the time*. The time it takes to write a book, coordinate with authors and editors across the globe, and so on is very time consuming. I will mention the request for a more rebust install method to the editors.

As for RDO, we attempted to write on that latest information that was available to us. Microsoft is not always up-front with all the changes to an object model because they are constantly changing. We were pressured by the publisher to get this book out "day/date" when VB5 went live.

Again, thank you for your comments.
