Synopsis

Each letter and bird is featured on a full-page spread, featuring an original painting from New Mexico-based artist Shelli Ogilvy. Also included for each bird is a poetic couplet, providing a caption to the painting, as well as fun facts. Adding to the book's appeal, a birdsong is reproduced, using phonetic sounds set within a musical staff. Shelli Ogilvy is a Southeast Alaska-born painter noted for her vivid, nature-based imagery. Her paintings for this book have been shown in galleries in Alaska, Washington, and New Mexico. She lives in Taos, NM.
