LTC Robert Powell, Ph.D., is the systems management program director and course director at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He has a Ph.D. in systems engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He has written several articles on decision-making, including one with Dennis Buede in the March 2006 issue of PM Journal.
Dennis Buede, Ph.D., is executive decision analyst, vice president, and chairman of the board at Innovative Decisions in Chantilly. He was formerly a professor at Stevens Institute of Technology and George Mason University. He has a Ph.D. and an MS in engineering-economic systems from Stanford University. He has written numerous journal articles on decision-making, as well as two books: The Engineering Design of Systems and (with co-author) Decision Synthesis: The Principles and Practice of Decision Analysis.
