Synopsis
This comprehensive tutorial provides an overview of the basic functions and procedures of MapInfo, as well as five case studies which illustrate various MapInfo applications. Early on in the book, MapInfo's principles functionalities are presented through the development of an application from start to finish. Subsequent chapters focus on learning MapInfo components and procedures, including map display options, workspaces, queries and browsers; how to create thematic maps and graphs; how to edit graphics and attribute data; how to improve layout and print; and the benefits of geocoding, buffering, digitizing and other applications. The CD-ROM includes data used in exercises, demonstration software by Claritas, and data samples by Geographic Data Technology, American Digital Cartography and Claritas.
