About the Author

Betty Padden has been in the carving business for over 35 years. Her company, Wooden Apple Signmakers, was established in 1976 and offers design service and custom carved signs for both residential and commercial customers. Her work has been displayed at Walt Disney World and Disneyland as well as historic Quincy Market in Boston, MA. Her signs adorn businesses from Maine to Alaska and have been featured in many publications. She teaches woodcarving to approximately 70 80 students per year.
