This beautiful book showcases over 70 unique contemporary quilts, and explores the inspiration behind each. Some draw on influences from traditional designs, others use colour, texture and tone to create stunning original effects. Some use the medium to commemorate an important event or to convey a message; others use original abstract design with startling results. Each quilt featured is annotated in detail so that you can see clearly the process by which it was created. You will discover the influences that inspire artists and professional quilters to produce such individual and diverse designs for quilts, and gain an insight into the skills and techniques they employ to realise their vision.
