How to start a new business & improve the chances of success
This is a book about entrepreneurship. It first treats the questions of whether you should think about becomning an entrepreneur--do you have the necessary personal qualities, are you willing to work hard enough, do you have the support of your family, etc. If the answer to these questions is positive then you must face the question of what business to start, how to improve the chances of success, and how to make the business grow. START UP is written in short easily understandable chapters and includes example after example to help you analyze your personal situation. In four editions over 70,000 copies have been sold and it is used either as a text or in small businessm programs in over 50 colleges and universities. My credentials to write such a book are that I am an entrepreneur who started a very successful long range radio communications business. In about eight years we grew to over 800 employees, were listed on AMEX, had about 4,000 shareholders and had sold equipment in over 100 countries. After merging with Harris Corporation I taught entrepreneurship and new venture management for many years in the MBA program at the University of Rochester, counseled hundreds of entrepreneurs in the problems associated with starting a business, invested personalfunds in about eight of them and oprganized the Rochester Venture Capital Group which helps entrepreneurs raise early stage capital. Any entrepreneurs who want to discuss the problems associated with starting a new business are welcome to telephone me days at 716-442-0888 or FAX me at the same number. Thank you for reading these comments and I wish you success in your program to become an entrepreneur. Bill Stolze
