Synopsis
This is an important book written about an important and often ignored subject, the father-child relationship. In writing this book, the author interviewed former Presidents, leaders of civil rights movements, business leaders, rock stars and famous actors and asked them about their relationship with their fathers and what they has learned from them. He chose however, to start his first chapter with the story that Arnold Palmer sent about a lesson he had learned from his father as a young man. It is simple, and yet it has guided Palmer through his life on the world's stage. Among the people who have written passages for this book are President George H. W. Bush; President Jimmy Carter; John Lennon; Jody Williams; Jesse Jackson, Jr; Arthur Donovan; Chris Evert; and Christie Hefner.
