When The Rope Above, the Bed Below first appeared in 1994, Jason Furys memoirs of a wild, sexually free Manhattan of 1980 before the AIDS epidemic became an overnight bestsellerfirst in America, and then around the world. Although beset with censorship problems, critics and fans quickly hailed the novel for its feverish writing, its breathless plot of a mad killer stalking New Yorks male strippers, and its hypnotic remembrance of a sex-filled world now vanished. Furys memoir is recognized today as a parable of the Plague Years that soon swept the world.

A new edition of my book, "The Rope Above, the Bed Below" will be forthcoming in early 2001. The present edition has sold steadily since it first appeared in l994. There were many battles between me and the publisher because censorship was still very anti-gay in l994. My original manuscript had the hero having an affair with his real brother. In the printed book, though, we had to go back and put "stepbrother" every time I referred to the gorgeous Steve. Many other incidents were chopped out in the finished book, which may account or its rather short length. In any case, reader reaction has been wonderful because I believe I succeeded in evoking that long, lost era of exhilarating hedonism. All the sexual segments were based on fact. The wild live exhibitions are no exaggerations. What went on at the Show Palace and the Ramrod Theater that year of l980 were mind-boggling. Look for it only in books and memoirs for that fantastic time is most definitely "gone with the wind". You can read my new books, "Kiss of King Kong", a novel of old gay Hollywood, "His Eyes Were Dark, He Licked His Lips", a romance suspense novel set in Manhattan in l973 and is based on real-life gossip that President Nixon had a real-life boyfriend; and my new stories of the bizarre, "The Secret of Jimmy X and Other Tales of the Macabre". My boyfriend, 'Big' Bill Jackson says "Hi." His memoirs, "Eighth Wonder" still sells all over the world. Write us at: fury38i@aol.com bye, now. Keep it hot.
Jason Fury is the pen name of cult author Jery Tillotson, who also writes under other pseudonyms. Everything I write is based on fact. He lives in a German hotel near the East River of Manhattan and sees very few people, with the exception of fellow scribe, Big Bill Jackson. He receives fan mail from all over the world.
