Rather than focusing on management issues, Budd discusses the organizational culture of universities and their libraries. Throughout the text, special attention is given to the structure of communication--both in print and electronically--and to the communities served by academic libraries. The book also includes a helpful analysis of political, social, and intellectual forces in higher education.
