Reply to Chris Kaminski
Clearly Mr. Kaminski has not actually read or gone over the techniques in Interface Design with Photoshop. There is not other way to explain his uninformed critique. For starters, the book specifically avoids KPT texture generated interfaces. The book goes well beyond standard shadow, glow, and emboss techniques. The concept behind this book was to take these popular techniques to new levels and apply them in unique ways. Beyond that, Interface Design with Photoshop covers techniques not documented anywhere else such as distortion techniques, random-bordering techniques, usable (as opposed to wild, KPT-esque) textures from scratch, and many more techniques that are wholly unrelated to bevels and embosses. While it is true that the techniques covered in this book aren't as applicatible in the corporate environment--perhaps they should be (look at SyForce's site for instance--zzz). The techniques featured in Interface Design with Photoshop go well beyond the gaming and multimedia world (which, however, is admittedly my genre). Mr. Kaminski is also wrong in assuming I never use these interfaces as readers of the Autumn 97 issue of Adobe Magazine can attest or those who have visited my site at www.eyeland.com. I employ the techniques featured in Interface Design with Photoshop on a daily basis. I can only presume that Mr. Kaminski is enrolled in the old school of infosnobs who will likely go on presuming that interface design can only be a stuffy, narrow minded discipline. I don't envy him his dull job. For the rest of, we will continue to breath a level of warmth, appeal, and (imagine this) fun into our interfaces and get paid handsomely to do so.

paperback. Condition: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.
