In 1912, William Randolph Hearst hired George McManus to start a comic strip about a guy named Jiggs - a working class man who came into a lot of money. With their new wealth, Maggie, Jiggs' wife, wants to enter the upper crust of society while Jiggs just wants to hang out with his old friends in his local bar. This became the classic strip Bringing Up Father', and is collected here in all its glory - much of which has not been reprinted in over 90 years.'
