The central purpose of the "Growing Greener" programme is to incorporate parks and conservation lands into the design of residential developments using a new generation of municipal open space plans, zoning standards, and subdivision requirements. About the Author

Randall Arendt was formerly vice president for conservation planning for the Natural Lands Trust and is now president of Greener Prospects, a land use consulting firm in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The Natural Lands Trust, based in Media, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit regional land trust dedicated to conserving land in the greater Philadelphia region and nearby areas.
