"Creative Space" summarizes and integrates the various up-to-date approaches of computational intelligence to knowledge and technology creation, including the specific novel feature of utilizing the creative abilities of the human mind, such as tacit knowledge, emotions and instincts, and intuition. It analyzes several important approaches of this new paradigm such as the Shinayakana Systems Approach, the organizational knowledge creation theory, in particular SECI Spiral, and the Rational Theory of Intuition - resulting in the concept of Creative Space. This monograph presents and analyzes in detail this new concept together with its ontology - the list and meanings of the analyzed nodes of this space and of the character of transitions linking these nodes.

A focus on skill themes. A skill themes approach trains teachers to help children develop their motor skills with developmentally appropriate activities as opposed to games and "just for fun" activities. The chapters in Part I introduce students to the concept of teaching physical education and teaching children in physical education. Future teachers learn how to teach children skills that are appropriate to their development skill level (not grade level).
Coverage of basic teaching skills. Part II, "Teaching Skills," covers important topics like planning, organizing, assessing and evaluating. A strong background in educationally sound theory and information on applying these theories will make the students who read Children Moving better teachers. An emphasis on reflective teaching introduces students to the concept of adjusting teaching styles to students' needs.
Examples of classroom conversations. The scripted format in the skill theme chapters (Part IV) gives new teachers concrete examples of real conversations in the classroom/gymnasium. Students learn from the examples how to participate in the dialogues that are instrumental to child-centered education.
Assessment pedagogy. Each chapter ends with a summary and reading comprehension questions. Throughout the skill theme chapters, assessment guides are featured. Although the text is theory based, students are encouraged to reflect on what they learn and apply it in their real-life teaching experiences.
Revised and expanded coverage of assessment. Chapter 14 addresses the dilemma of grading and reporting systems that must use grades, and strategies on how to do this within the Children Moving Philosophy. It also includes new and updated information on assessment techniques such as observation and portfolios.
Greater advocacy of physical education throughout. This edition includes a heightened focus on physical education advocacy and highlights the recent changes in the field.
More on Inclusion. Chapter 6 contains updated information on inclusion of persons with disabilities in quality physical education programs.
Stronger emphasis on fitness and wellness concepts with expanded suggestions for teaching basic fitness and wellness to children (Chapter 4).
Stronger link between skill themes and developmentally appropriate games. Chapter 31 includes ideas about how game-like activities can be used at the control level, with more ideas and examples in developing versatile game players who possess strategical knowledge and skills to play well.
New discussion of cooperative games experiences with examples that help put these ideas into perspective and new strategies for changing games (Chapter 31).
Completely updated information throughout using the guidelines set forth in the Developmentally Appropriate Physical Education publication and the NASPE standards.
