Synopsis
This work aims to help PC users apply objective principles to evaluating, selecting and using database management systems (DBMS). The relational model is explained in detail, along with the sorts of practical problems that it can solve. The Structured Query Language (SQL)is also explained. Its relational fidelity, status as a standard database language and benefits for application development are assessed.
