A coming of age story for everyone to experience!!!
"First Class" is a true story that reads like fiction. Real names have been changed to protect individual privacy, innocence, or guilt. It is the story of the first women to break the 131-year all-male tradition of the United States Naval Academy and the challenges they faced.
I wrote this book to document history. The events depicted took place over twenty years ago. If the issues seem too fresh or the events appear too similar to modern-day occurrences, then it is time to stop repeating them.
In 1976, Sharon Hanley Disher was among the first female midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy. After graduating in 1980, she served on active duty with the Civil Engineer Corps for 10 years.Show More
