Synopsis
Written by H.W. Wilson, the two volumes in this set were originally published in 1926. The two volumes combine to offer an incredibly thorough account of naval history during the First World War. Some of Wilson's earlier work also covers sea combat for the pre-war period, i.e. from 1860 until the outbreak of war in 1914. There is little doubt that Wilson's account of naval warfare history is the most comprehensive that's ever been produced on the subject and, having stood well the test of time, is now widely considered a classic, oft-cited as a source. The two-volume set offered and pictured in this listing was published by Conway Maritime Press in 1995. The two books combined cover 721 pages. Each hardback volume in the Conway set weighs around 1kg.
