Synopsis

It is here in these latter days of the 20th century that it often feels like we are living on the edge of something. Some days seem like it is the edge of despair... other days it is like the edge of a new world. Living on the edge calls for fresh words of judgment and hope for all who are called to preach the good news.
-- from the Introduction

These ten sermons offer Old Testament messages with many contemporary illustrations. The author uses scripture from 2 Kings, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Hosea to present ten sermons for use in the Common Lectionary. His sermon themes provide hope for 20th-century-believers.

Sermon titles include:
Living by a Hunch (2 Kings 4:8-17)
Who's in Charge Here? (Jeremiah 18:1:11)
This Life Is Yours to Live! (Ezekiel 18:1-9, 25-29)
The Soft-touch God (Hosea 11:1-11)
