About the Author

SCOTT W. GOODSPEED, FACHE, is president and CEO of Goodspeed, a national management consulting firm in Bedord, New hampshire, aspiring to creat healthy futures for individuals, organizations, communities, and nations. Before founding Goodspeed, he was the president and CEO of a 300–bed community hospital, vice president and COO of a $300 million health care system, and president and CEO of an academic medical center. Goodspeed has served on over 20 nonprofit boards, and in 1994 he won the Modern Healthcare/Governance Institute Governance Fellowship Award.
