About the Author

Karen Sladyk, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA

Karen Sladyk, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA, has a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in community health from Southern Connecticut State University. She is currently a doctoral candidate in adult and vocational education at the University of Connecticut. Karen recently accepted a new position as program director at Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. As program director, she has developed a student-centered curriculum. As an occupational therapy teacher, Karen’s interests include clinical reasoning and fieldwork. OT Student Primer: A Guide to College Success is Karen’s second book written for students. OTR Exam Review Manual was written with peers to guide students through the NBCOT exam. Karen’s focus is on meeting students’ needs through her informative books. She resides in Vernon, Connecticut, in a very old house with two cats. When she is not busy with academic challenges, she enjoys quilt making.
