We no longer lack models of college student development. We have models, many of which represent careful data-based effort. About the Author

LEE KNEFELKAMP is an assistant professor in the department of Counseling and Personnel Services Faculty Associate for Research and Development, Division of Student Affairs, at the University of Maryland. CAROLE WIDICK is an assistant professor of psychology at St. John′s University, Collegeville, Minnesota. Her work has focused on the use of developmental theory in the design of counseling and instructional programs. CLYDE A. PARKER is a counseling psychologist who is chairman of the Department of Social, Psychological and Philosophical Foundations in the College of Education at the University of Minnesota.
