Synopsis

Practice vignettes, personal experiences, and casework examples are provided and assert that everyday interactions with clients from disadvantaged groups can challenge injustice and ultimately transform larger systems of oppression.

About the Authors
Donna Baines is a social work and labor studies professor at McMaster University. She is the author of numerous articles on alternative social work practices and social justice movements. Akua Benjamin is the director of the School of Social Work at Ryerson University. She is also involved in international community development work in Trinidad, West Indies. They both live in Toronto, Ontario.
