From the Author

PAYBACK is a relationship book in wolves' clothing.
Readers, editors, even reviewers find my writing difficult to classify. My books are not romances, yet relationships -- especially those involving romantic love -- are central to my stories. I like to say they're relationship books in wolves' clothing because their lifeblood is mystery, adventure, danger, ACTION. Why? It seems to me infinitely interesting to examine how people who are strongly attracted to each other behave when they are in danger, perhaps even in fear of one another. Exciting, dangerous environments do interesting things to people. That's what I like to explore in my books. I think it is a fallacy that men are not interested in relationships. They are. But not many men like to delve deeply into romantic fantasy. But they do like to see love stories play themselves out in situations that go beyond romance. Many women enjoy this, as well. That is why my books appeal equally to both men and women. Couples who've read my books say they've had some interesting discussions about issues raised. In PAYBACK, for example, trust is a major theme. And it's one men and women do not always look at the same way. Not only is trust a problem between the hero and heroine, but many of the other characters as well, including one of the bad guys and his wife. Could men and women have different perspectives on the issue of trust? I'd like to know how readers view this and other issues raised in the book. And for the couples who read PAYBACK, did any worthwhile discussions come of it?
