CHAPTER 1

Grace

We are so richly blessed with the grace of God each day. We are only here through and by His abundant grace. We are more than who we see ourselves to be. God gives us grace to discover who we really are and what we are here to do for Him. We were made on purpose, with a purpose, to serve and glorify God. His grace is a gift which we cannot earn or demand. His grace surrounds us with His favor. The grace He gives sustains us, protects us, and grants us another opportunity to get right with Him. Use God's grace to do good today and build a life of righteousness. Use His unmerited favor to bring joy, hope, and kindness into this world.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Love

Love is having the spirit and intention to serve another with joy and the willingness to put yourself second. It is being able to go beyond the limits we create to help someone else. Love allows us to remove the constraints of selfishness and be selfless. Love frees us up from ourselves to become more than who we are today. Love has no bitterness, spite, resentment, or harm. Love is kind, forgiving, and hopeful. Love brings out the best in us and others. The more we allow love to grow in our heart, the more we will be transformed into a beautiful blessed flower which blooms as a symphony of brilliant operatic light. In Matthew 5:16, we are told to "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." That is what love will allow us to do.

"Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." 1 Corinthians 13:6-7

Worthy

Your life may not be as you planned. Your hopes and dreams may not have come to fruition yet as far as your understanding. Your employment may not be working out the way you envisioned. The neighborhood may not have all the amenities you imagined. Your life is more than what you can see and more than your past. Your presence here far exceeds your current state, position, or existence. What you have, where you live, or what position you hold does not dictate your worth. Your worth exceeds any material goods, worldly fame, or the depth of your knowledge. Your worth does not depend on you. You are worthy because of Jesus who gave His life for you. There is no greater worth than being valued by the blood of Jesus. Walk in your worthiness each day. Raise your head, put a smile on your face, take deep breaths and have faith that God put you here. He knows your worth. It is up to you to allow your worthiness to illuminate the darkness. God made us all.

"Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." Revelation 5:12-13

Wait on the Lord

Are you rushing through life? Do you remember what you ate this morning? What did you wear yesterday or the day before? How often do we make decisions based on what we can see, hear or know of others? If we base our decisions on how we feel at the moment or worldly outcomes, we will miss out on the blessing we could receive if we sought God through prayer and waited for an answer from him. How many times have you jumped and made a decision because you were anxious and discovered you made your move too soon? Time after time we have relied on immediate gratification and lose out on the abundant blessing. Take a look around you: at the body and how it works, the planet and its gravitational pull; or the simplicity and greatness of the power of love. Knowing that God created all these things and more; how ignorant would it be not to rely on Him for all things? Study, meditate, pray and wait on the Lord. He knows what is best for us and when it is best for us.

"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalm 27:13-14

Happy is A Choice

Each day we choose to be happy, sad or worried. What do you focus on? Are you counting your blessings? God woke you up this morning, you have a roof over your head, your body is able to move under your control, and you have multiple senses to assimilate the environment around you. What are you thinking about? We move in the direction of our thoughts. If we use our energy to be grateful where we are right now, we will be able to see an overflowing fountain of innumerable blessings panoramically dispersed to us constantly. Knowing that God had a choice to creating us, and He did, choosing to be happy is a small thing. Put your focus on those things that will add value to the world around you. Use your abilities to seek truth and thoughts, righteousness, and forgiveness. Allow acceptance of the world's values in your life to die and put on God's values. Your life will change and change for the better, for you and for others. Make the choice to be happy starting today. Happy in the Lord.

"Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he. The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning." Proverbs 16:19-21

Mercy Mercy

Dear Lord, I thank You for the mercy You show me each day. I know that my life is filled with troubles of my making. Lord, help me to recognize the mercy You show me and help me to offer mercy to others. I am living in a world of ambition and competition. Lord, I have gotten confused about my mission for You because I looked at the world and thought I was missing something. Thank You for Your mercy through my blindness. Thank You for Your mercy through my selfishness. Thank You for Your mercy through my striving to count the world's values as valuable to and for me. Mercy, mercy me, I thank God for Jesus. Thank You, thank You, and thank You for not giving up on me. Thank You for forgiving me and directing my path back to You. Let me be a child of mercy and forgiveness.

"Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love." 2 John 1:3

Amazing Grace

God, you have blessed me with Your amazing grace this day. You have given me another opportunity to get it right. God, You are an awesome God and we fail to praise You for the amazing blessings You pour out on us each day. Let me honor You with my lips, with my heart, and with my spirit. You have shown me the way this day to look beyond myself and look to You. Thank You for being my Father and teaching me how to serve You by serving others. Let me show gratitude for the grace You bestow upon me each day. Let me trust and know that Your grace will protect me, save me, secure me in all ways. My God is amazing!

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." 2 Corinthians 13:14

It Is Time

It is time to live. It is time to stop and listen to life. It is time to know the things you have failed to know thus far. It is time to go into a depth of understanding into which you were not willing to venture before. It is time to put the past behind you and move forward in the present. It is time not to limit yourself to the failures of yesterday. It is time to dream and become the person you know you are capable of becoming. It is time to allow your strength to be utilized to propel you to success and excellence. It is time for you to be aware of yourself and your potential. It is time to stop standing in your own way and believe that you are a wonderful, beautiful, powerful person who can achieve more than mediocre success. Believe that you are made in the image of God and that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. It is time. Get up, get moving, stop doubting, and be enthusiastic about who you are now. It is time!!

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

How Are You?

I must ask, how are you? What do you want out of life? How have you been treating yourself? What does it take for you to be happy? Who are you happy with? Again, I ask, what do you want out of life? What do you put into life? How do you let others treat you? How do you treat others? What is important to you? Do you love? Do you want love? How do you ask for love? Do you receive the love you want? Do you open your heart to love? How much love are you giving to others? Tell me, tell you, how are you?

"Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews. Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee." Job 10:11-13

Stop

Stop. Breathe and listen to your heart. Stop. Listen to your thoughts. Stop. Look at yourself and what you want from life. Stop. Believe in yourself and where you are in life. Stop. Believe in yourself and where you want to go. Stop! Go no further without seeing what a beautiful, wonderful, and blessed person you are. Stop and examine yourself. Know that you are made in the image of God and that you have good in you. Stop. Praise God for you and move out in grace and blessings. Remember to stop and see who you are from time to time. Don't let the world confuse you. You are wonderfully and fearfully made.

"Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?" Job 37:14-15

Put Your Heart In It

Live with all you have. Don't hold back. Why hold back on living the best life possible? What are you saving your life for? Who are you saving your life for? Tomorrow is not promised to you. Live and see the blessings you have to share, to hold, to enjoy, and to flourish. Let your heart lead you to a place of fulfillment and love. Do what you do with your heart fully vested. Put your heart in it and see how robust life is. See that living life without your heart in it, is not enough. It's not okay, and you are cheating and robbing yourself and others. Why live without your heart in it? Live now while you have life. Seek to fill your life and heart with the love of God. Then whatever you do, put your heart in your life.

"And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, so do, as thou hast said." Genesis 18:5

"And I will raise me up a faithful priest, that shall do according to that which is in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed forever." 1 Samuel 2:35

When Life Isn't

When life isn't all you think it should be; when life doesn't bring you the joy and hope you dream you will have; when life seems to bring you pain, suffering, challenges, and blocks; when life has a way of telling you, you will not get anywhere; when life isn't filled with the love and support you desire so desperately; when life isn't giving you what you think you need: stop, breathe, listen, and pray. Know that God will never leave his child alone. No matter how alone you may feel in this world, in this moment, this world is not your home. Trust that God will see you through and He is always available to you through prayer.

"And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?" Luke 12:22-24

How is Your Life?

Hello, how are you right now? How are you living? How are you seeing yourself? How willing are you to live? How much of yourself do you know? How are you living with yourself? How much of yourself are you allowing others to know? Are you allowing fear to run your life? How are you really making it? How much of reality are you living in? How do you see life? Is life exciting, boring, helpless, or hopeful? How and when will you decide to take full stock of you? What are you waiting for? Live now! Live freely in Christ.

"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men." John 1:3-4

Believe

Believe in God and not in yourself. Believe that God will see you through. Believe that you will overcome all the challenges of life that will come your way and be strengthened in ways you never imagined. Know that you cannot always trust in things you see, or what you hear, and especially what people say. Study and learn for yourself. Examine who you are and believe that you are capable of great things through Christ. Christ will strengthen you in righteousness, not in worldliness. Go forward and believe in who you are in Christ and how God created only one of YOU. Believe.

"Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God." Daniel 6:23
