Synopsis

Christianity is under attack, but not because Christmas greeters say "Happy Holidays." From the university classroom to the NY Times bestseller list, the foundations of our faith are being not only questioned, but openly mocked. Sometimes we do not understand the criticisms of our critics, and their claims are met with little resistance. This book takes the reader through 12 common objections to Christianity and offers compelling answers to these objections in a readable, straightforward style. You are invited to enter this world of ideas, so you can understand and answer these objections when you encounter them. Doug Ward is both a pastor and professor of New Testament, so he has a foot in both the church and the academic world. Currently, Doug serves as Lead Pastor of Mundelein Church of the Nazarene in suburban Chicago. He is also an Adjunct Professor of New Testament at Olivet Nazarene University, and has served in this capacity for 14 years. Doug received a Masters in Biblical Literature from Wheaton College and has completed all coursework towards a Ph.D. from Marquette University in Biblical Theology with an emphasis in the New Testament. In his free time, Doug is a big baseball fan, with a tortured history rooting for the Cleveland Indians. During the warm months, he is also an avid golfer. You can find a collection of his reflections on faith and golf with A Duffers Life - Thoughts on Faith, Family and the Game I Love on Amazon.com.
