Synopsis

It’s what every Christian hopes to achieve: a closer walk with God. However, the factors of our surroundings, as well as our sin nature, keeps us from truly surrendering to God’s will. Catholic author Joe Herzberg characterizes what it takes to be Christ’s disciple in his new book of spiritual reflections, which centers on the four simple truths of trust, obey, listen and rejoice in walking with God.

The reflections comprise scriptural references/stories, logical insight and personal anecdotes that illustrates how appealing for God’s help comes by asking and believing in Jesus’ name, and by experiencing redemptive suffering as was exemplified by Jesus on the cross. The life stories of Mother Teresa, Mother Angelica and other notable Christian figures shape the lessons on Christian living that Joe offers, encouraging readers to live in the moment and embrace where God leads them next on their walks with Him.

Sharing how his own faults have contributed to an uncertain witness of Christ at times, Joe demonstrates to readers the struggles to maintain an unhindered path to Christ, especially if we attempt to do it alone, without Christ. Readers will find these reflections personal and accurate to what they are experiencing in life.
