Synopsis

The Gift: A Short Story of the Nativity by author Charlotte Reed is a children's book that retells the story of Jesus' birth as seen through the eyes of a boy named Daniel. When a mysterious boy shows up on Daniel's doorstep during Christmastime, Daniel decides to tell him the Christmas story about Jesus being born. Instead, Daniel is taken on the journey of a lifetime to see the actual events of the Nativity story unfold before his eyes, including Zechariah and Elizabeth's story and the birth of John, the angel Gabriel's message to Mary, Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem, Jesus's birth in a stable, the angels announcing Jesus' birth to the shepherds, the journey of the three wise men, and Herod's decree. The Gift tells the theologically rich story of God sending His son to earth to save His lost people. Christmas story; Nativity story; Jesus' birth.
