About the Author
I was born in a in small town named Lenoir which is located in western North Carolina in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. In addition, my father, who spent most of his life working for the U.S. Forest Service, was an avid outdoorsman and conservationist and he instilled in me from an early age his values and love of the outdoors. Furthermore, due to my father's employment with the U.S. Forest Service, I have lived and hunted in some of the most exotic locations the U.S. has to offer such as Lufkin, TX., Juneau, AK., and Jackson Hole, WY. However, it was during my employment as the manager and guide for a local fly fishing shop that I met a fellow who's cousin owns a small, private, island located off of the coast of Georgia. Thus, because the owner of the island was looking for a way to pay the property taxes on it, we suggested to the cousin that he allow us to bow hunt the feral hogs that inhabited the island to which he agreed. Thus, we immediately set about assembling a group of hunters and planned our first trip. But, because none of us who went on those first couple of hunts had any experience at all hunting feral hogs, we were highly disorganized to say the least! But, over the last fifteen years or so, I have become intimately familiar with the art of bow hunting feral hogs! Thus, after reading numerous books on this super exciting sport and being highly disappointed by each and every one, I finally decided to use my extensive knowledge and experience to write my own book. Therefore, I have attempted to take a logical approach to presenting my information in order to provide you with a definitive resource that will give you all of the information you need to enter the sport of feral hog hunting and/or, drastically improve your present hog hunting skills.
