Carlo Mignani was born and raised in Rome, Italy. He and his American wife, Betsy, settled in Rome for several years, but later moved to the US. On many visits back to Rome, Carlo found himself walking the city as a tourist, and, not satisfied with the available guidebooks, he decided to write a more varied and interesting one.Betsy Schad Mignani married Carlo Mignani and lived in Rome for many years. She enjoyed participating in this effort to bring a personal, detailed description of the many wonderful things to see in Rome.
