Master Educator and Counselor for over a quarter of a century, Rize Lamont McGill attended Arizona State University where his popularity grew as he starred as a baseball player until injuries halted his athletic career. He went back east to his hometown; Philadelphia, to earn his Dual Masters Degree at Wilmington College in Delaware met his amazing wife of 8 years in the state of Delaware had a son who recently graduated College in the state of Florida who also led his team in sports as leading scorer and captain of the division one FIU Basketball team. As a smart and fast learner in school, and streets with worn out sneakers with soles of his feet that touched the ground, Rize McGill often looked in the mirror, and reflected to the ugliness of society as the youngest as the hot-iron made its way home to his family of six! His mother, Arnetha McGill moved often but sought to keep the family together, attend church every Sunday, live near relatives, safe to never walk alone to stores or markets and inside before the street lights come on. Even though, surrounded by gang violence, by sixth grade Rize, (Rise) knew he would attend college and as his peers often told him he was going to be a teacher because he'd finish school work early stood in front of them to tell stories of superheroes that included the lessons taught in class for guided practice to encourage the importance of education, to be peaceful and to succeed in life!
