About the Author

Patsy McLaughlin grew up during the depression the youngest of 7, on a small family farm in Ohio. After college she married her military husband (David) and began a life on the move for the next 37 years. Living in France and Luxembourg, then crisscrossing the U.S. on their many assignments, they had three daughters: Lori, Beth and Amy. Patsy volunteered as a youth counselor for her church in Ohio and she became active in the church and communities in which they lived. At George Mason University she volunteered as a listener at The Listening Post. She was also a volunteer for the homeless while on assignment in the Washington, D.C. area. Now in her 80's she said she wrote this book in hopes of preserving for her family a tidbit of our past which is fading from memory.
