Synopsis

Are you wanting to incorporate more whole plant foods into your diet with simple recipes that are delicious and healthy? Basic Macrobiotics Menus & Recipes contains nearly 200 recipes including 'Breakfast Quickies', creative porridges, sinfully easy and delicious soups, beans, hearty salads, whole grains, a variety of land and sea vegetable recipes, and high-protein, plant-based entrées. Most of the recipes are naturally gluten-free, or easily modifiable.

A macrobiotic diet is not a one-size-fits-all approach to eating. It is a set of principles that empower you to make the best choices of what to eat, and how to prepare it to restore balance based on your unique condition and needs, adapted to the season and region you live. Whether you consume animal foods and products, but want to learn how to eat more whole plant foods, or you are already a plant-based dieter looking for meal and recipe inspiration, this book has you covered.

In Basic Macrobiotics Menus & Recipes, you'll find an 8-Day Meal Plan, along with special sample 4-Day meal plans for a spring/summer diet, a fall/winter diet, and for those focusing on a more healing diet plan. There are recipes for a unique variety of porridge and other breakfast options, whole wheat or buckwheat pancakes, fruit smoothies and fruity finishes along with more natural, healthy desserts, including her popular Okara Sesame Coconut Cookies, and Black Bean, Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Brownies, along with healing beverages, and a variety of daily, seasonal, and healing menu plans, shopping lists that you can copy or clip to take with you, and more.

Preparing meals at home is a sacred act that deserves honor as the chef of the home is the true doctor of the family. Eating beautiful, balanced foods will help you stabilize your moods, energy, and health, while preventing debilitating and costly dis-ease.

As always, Tracy's books are sprinkled with helpful tips, wise advice that you can apply to your entire life, and, a lot of love!

About the Author

Tracy Minton-Matesz is a certified clinical hypnotherapist with a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine, specializing in food therapy. Upon completion of certification in plant-based nutrition from the T. Colin Campbell Foundation and e-Cornell, and an online macrobiotic counselor certification course, she and her husband Don adopted a low-carbohydrate, high-fat and protein diet. While eating a diet centered around grains, greens, and beans, Tracy mastered preparing whole plant foods as simply as possible without scrimping on flavor. She has now expanded her repertoire to include super simple and delicious whole foods, including eggs, fish, and a variety of meats, and bone broths. Tracy has experienced many dietary styles after spending many years attempting to heal various health conditions she experienced since childhood, including allergies, childhood anemia, digestive problems, and hypoglycemia. She and her husband followed a vegan macrobiotic diet for over five years before realizing that many of their ongoing health issues were from being highly sensitive to a consumption of excess carbohydrates. Since switching to a low-carb, high-fat diet, they have had great results. Although Tracy wrote several books while eating a plant-based diet, including The Macrobiotic Action Plan: Your MAP to Greater Health & Happiness, and Make Every Bite Count, Elevate Your Choices, Lose Weight & Feel Great ~ The SASSY ~ Super Affordable, Simple, Satisfying & Yummy Produce-Rich, Plant-Based Way To Health, she never achieved the results she was hoping for. She has since updated her recommendations to reflect current research, and her own fat loss and health improvements from eating a low-carbohydrate, high-fat, and moderate to high protein ancestral diet. Her new Trust Your True Nature Diet Plan e-book reflects her latest recipes, and health improvements. Learn more at TrustYourTrueNature.com.
