He composed over 800 ghazals, being influenced by Sadi he began to be called the ‘Sadi of Hindustan’. His ghazals carried usually only one theme and were simple and natural in their language, using words that were commonly used. In his Divan of 10,000 couplets many qit’a’s and ruba’is are on love.
