Synopsis

This book ‘AQA Level 2 certificate in Further Mathematics’ has many examples and exam type practice questions that will help you get up to speed with a higher level of mathematics than GCSE. This qualification fills the gap for high achieving students by assessing their higher order mathematical skills, particularly in algebraic reasoning which will stretch and challenge you as well as help you to build on the topics in Key Stage 4. It is an additional qualification to the GCSE Mathematics, rather than a replacement. This new qualification places an emphasis on higher order proficiency, rigorous argument and problem solving skills. It also gives an introduction to calculus and matrices and develops further skills in trigonometry, functions and graphs. The AQA Level 2 Certificate in Further Mathematics is for learners who either already have or are expected to achieve grades A and A* in GCSE mathematics and are likely to progress to study A-Level mathematics and possibly further mathematics.
