Synopsis
Cognitive skills are the driving force behind school achievement, annual standardized tests and gifted and talented tests. School does not teach cognitive skills at a reasonable level, if at all, and math curriculum before 5th grade is mainly calculation and very little thinking. Working memory and reasoning skills suffer during this time from the one-step nature of standard math curriculum.
Test Prep Math focuses on the foundational cognitive skills underlying math success with 100 word problems that target reasoning and critical thinking, and 120 calculation problems that give working memory a work out. These problems are designed to break bad habits and set the stage for future success in school and on tests.
Test Prep Math Level 2 is suitable for children between September of 2nd grade through about October of 3rd grade.
