About the Authors

Timothée de Fombelle is the author of Toby Alone - a thrilling tale of heroism, friendship and survival - and its sequel, Toby Alone and the Secrets of the Tree.

Francois Place studied visual expression at L'Ecole Estienne before completing his first illustrations for the Decouverte Cadet series. He has since illustrated many books, including Michael Morpurgo's War Horse and Meeting Cézanne, and has also become a fiction author whose talent has often been highly praised, with The Last Giants, The Old Man Crazy About Drawing and The Atlas of the Geographers of Orbae. Francois lives near Paris, France.
