Synopsis

Wildfowling is an ancient pastime whereby game birds, especially wild ducks, geese, or swans, are hunted for their various reasons including sport, population control, and for their meat. This vintage book contains a complete guide to wildfowling, dealing with the varieties of wildfowl common to the British isles and covering different techniques, equipment and guns, employing gun dogs, and everything else a wildfowler needs to know about their chosen sport. Contents include: "Introduction", "What Wildfowling Really is", "Wildfowlers and Wildfowling Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow", "Guns", "Ammunition", "The Complete Gun-room", "The Law as it Affects Wildfowlers", "Wildfowl Dogs and How to Break Them", "Shore-shooting-Hutting", "Shore-shooting-Working Longshore", etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on shooting wildfowl.
