Excerpt from Wavelength Measurement System for Optical Fiber Communications
Kowalski et ai. [3] later developed a system which corrected for interference fringe dropouts caused by transient dye laser instabilities Missing fringes were accounted for by comparing numbers counted in an interval with 61 preceding reference interval. Fractional fringes were monitored by measuring the time separation between the first observed dye - laser fringe and the first hene reference-laser fringe. This was done with a signal 100 times faster than the fringe signal rate and the procedure repeated at the end of a scan. The setup was placed in a vacuum chamber and the uncertainty due to dispersion was reported to be with instrument precision on the order of 11108.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is an in-depth physics study of a specialized tool for measuring a rarely measured attribute of light from single-mode diode lasers. Single-mode lasers are prevalent in telecommunications and other modern technologies. Developed by the author, the subject tool measures the wavelength of infrared radiation with high accuracy. The tool is unique in its ability to analyze adjacent modes of light, opening research possibilities in temperature and injection current fluctuation effects on wavelength. The text assumes a considerable baseline in scientific concepts; however, it avoids highly complex language, making it suitable for established scientists, researchers, and academics in applicable fields. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781528022958_0
