Excerpt from An Analysis of Inertial Seisometer-Galvanometer Combinations
In order properly to understand the scope and limitations of a theoretical treatment of the equations of motion for seismograph galvanometer combinations and the amplitude-frequency response curves derived from them, the authors found it necessary to start from firstprinciples. Where assumptions have been made in the development there has been an attempt to state them explicitly.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a deep analysis of inertial seismometer-galvanometer combinations, examining the interaction between an electromagnetic inertial instrument and its associated galvanometer. The theory of motion for seismograph galvanometer combinations and the resulting amplitude-frequency response curves are derived and comprehensively explored, highlighting the relationships between the physical properties of the instruments and their performance. The author presents a fresh treatment, independent of the work of others, revealing relations not previously noted, and introduces only symbols having physical significance and which are measurable, at least in principle. The book discusses the historical context of this work and its position within the broader field of seismology. It includes a section on nomenclature and references to pertinent previous work. The insights on the subject presented in this book will be of great value to those involved in the design, calibration, and use of inertial seismometer-galvanometer combinations. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781527795051_0
