Excerpt from Electrolysis in Concrete
I. That, as far as the experiments went, the passage of an electric current of whatever magnitude from embedded iron to concrete in the presence of moisture resulted in cracking of the concrete and rusting of the embedded iron. These cracks ex tended radially from the iron and opened out j gradually as the test progressed until the block in which the iron was placed would go to pieces or could be easily broken.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book assesses the impact electric currents have on reinforced concrete, a topic which has garnered attention in recent years due to increasing reports of serious damage to concrete structures. The author details the results of extensive laboratory experiments carried out to examine the nature and cause of these phenomena. Included are sections devoted to analyzing anode and cathode effects under high and low voltage conditions, as well as the potential risks associated with electrolysis in concrete structures and protective measures that can be taken. The author's findings provide essential information for understanding this issue and mitigating the potential risks involved.
