Synopsis

Do you want a better work-life balance?
Do you want to be your own boss?
Do you want to be in control of your health, time, and be there for loved ones?

How to be a Virtual Assistant is the essential handbook for anyone who wants to start and run their own successful business as a VA.

My multi-award winning Amazon number one bestseller has changed the lives of many. This will shows you what being a VA is like, how it can change your life if the 9-5 grind isn't working for you.

It is possible for work to revolve around life.

With an abundance of insider tips on what to do - and more importantly, what not to do - I've included the kind of detail that can make or break a new business.

I'm Catherine Gladwyn, founder of Delegate VA Ltd. In 2015 I went from PA to thriving business owner - and now I have the enormous privilege of helping other women do the same, through my books, free literature, and course.

'Gain insights into every step of the process and practical advice on subjects from finding your niche to finding clients, what services to offer and what to charge, to how to prepare for losing clients and avoid running out of money.‘Written with honesty, directness and a large pinch of Catherine’s trademark humour, How to be a Virtual Assistant will not only give you vital techniques for building your business but the self-belief you need to step out of your comfort zone and do it!’

Catherine is passionate about cheerleading people who are unappreciated and unsatisfied in their jobs to create a happier, healthier lifestyle for themselves.

As she says: “I’ve looked high and low for the definition of work where it says ‘unbearable, depressing, thankless, soul-destroying’, but it doesn’t because it’s not supposed to be!”.'

  • Amazon number one bestseller.
  • Voted Most Popular Book for VAs in the Virtual Assistant Voice Awards
  • Listed one of ten best business books in The Independent
  • Mentioned in The Guardian
  • Finalist in Wiltshire Business Awards

About the Author

For me starting on this journey to business owner was daunting, I had all the usual fears, fear of failure, fear of losing face, fear of going broke, fear of letting myself and my daughter down - especially as she had aspirations of going to Uni, but I also had the added worry of failing because of my health. Equally though, my health was the reason I wanted to be my own boss, to improve it and manage it. I had a pituitary (base of brain) tumour removed in 2012, then radiotherapy in 2014 which destroyed the tumour but also the pituitary gland. With that life has to adjust a little as my body relies on meds throughout the day to stay alive and various hospital appointments throughout the year. I've always loved making a difference in my work, having a purpose, which is why I've loved being a PA / admin manager during my career. But, working for others became hard work - my dream was to be my own boss so I could manage my health. I started my business as a Virtual Assistant in 2016 and am now earning more than I ever have, don't get stressed (bf and daughter disagree - it's them not me). And now, this is why I've published my first book, How to be a Virtual Assistant, to help others move from PA to VA. Because no one should struggle in life and work need not be hard.
