About the Author

Major General HERBERT TAYLOR SIBORNE was the second son of Captain William Siborne, who produced the first major account of the Waterloo Campaign. During the compilation of that work and the famous Waterloo model currently on display in the National Army Museum, William Siborne contacted many of the surviving participants of the battle and it is a large number of the replies he received which are reproduced in Waterloo Letters. H.T. Siborne served in the Kaffir War 1851-53.
