As the year of 1906 draws to a close, Inspector Jake Fraser still has unresolved murders on his mind in an Aberdeen where there is a growing excitement towards the newly built His Majesty's Theatre, which now nears completion and prepares to open it's doors on the first Monday of December. As well as finding at least two murderers, Jake also has to identify who is behind the campaign to prevent the opening of the theatre and the threats against the life of a local businessman who has aspirations to get involved in national politics. It is yet another busy period for the Aberdeen City Police, which concludes the 1906 trilogy of stories.
